Working with Me

Therapy I Offer

I offer talking therapy from a Humanistic perspective and also sandplay therapy which is a passion of mine (and it’s this passion that led me to begin undertaking my certification to become a Sandplay Therapist). Using the sand and figures within the sand tray is a powerful therapeutic approach to express not only understanding of self, but the world, emotions and life events - anything can show up within the sand tray for you and we can explore this together within a safe, non-judgemental space of deep caring. Personally, I never considered myself as being creative until I met myself in the sand!

How I work

I work with adults and offer both short and long-term counselling, providing a safe place of compassion and understanding with the aim to facilitate one’s personal growth through enabling change, allowing acceptance and honoring your own being. Listening is the foundation of my person-centred counselling approach.

When working together, you are at the centre of this process and I am beside you, assisting in helping you develop the skills necessary to not only manage what arises within the therapeutic space together but for overall well-being in your life.

Areas of counselling I deal with include but are not limited to:

  • Feelings of: anxiety, depression, low mood.

  • Relationship problems: romantic, family, friendship.

  • Panic attacks, physical anxiety.

  • Cultural and societal expectations.

  • Bereavement.

  • Feelings of displacement.

  • Neurodiversity.

  • Lack of: self-confidence, self-worth, self-esteem.

  • Sexual problems.

initial session

The first step would be contacting me which can be done via the Contact Me form.

After you contact me, I’ll be in touch to arrange a free online 1 hour session so we can see if working together would be right for you. This initial session provides an opportunity for you to ask any questions about how I practice or how we may work together, and this time can also be used to clarify any concerns or queries you may have in regards to pursuing counselling with me. There is no obligation to continue working with me following on from this session if you decide that the service is not for you.

Working together

Following on from the initial introductory session, our first session will allow for discussion around what has made you reach out for therapy and your background, what led you to where you find yourself now. We will contract together and consider if we will be working together short-term or long-term, as well as discussing any goals you may be aiming for within our sessions together.
